Labor Day Weekend DUI Checkpoint Update: 8/31 - 9/3

The KS & Missouri war against DUI's continues through this Labor Day Weekend. Here's what we've heard so far:

1. The Kansas City Missouri Police Dept. has announced they will have a DUI Checklane sometime this weekend at an unidentified location.

2. The Johnson County Sheriff's Department has announced that they will have DUI Saturation Patrols running throughout the weekend. A DUI Saturation Patrol is different from a checklane in the fact that there isn't one central location, but officers will be out that are specifically looking for DUI's.

3. Manhattan, KS: The Riley County Police Dept. & the Kansas Highway Patrol have announced they will have a DUI checkpoint Friday 8/31 starting at 11:00 p.m. running to 3:00 a.m. on 9/1. They will have 16 officers at this checkpoint, it has not been announced where, but if you are heading back for the K-State game beware.

At any checkpoint if they suspect you of driving under the influence it is likely they will ask you to perform field sobriety tests, and then possibly additional test to determine your B.A.C.

Have a safe Labor Day Weekend, and don't drink and drive. We will update as we learn more.
