Overland Park Criminal & DUI Defense

Michigan Dad uses 9 year old daughter as Designated Driver to avoid getting a DUI.

Well I always recommend people either get a designated driver or take a cab home if they have been drinking. It seems this Michigan dad should have a taken a cab... Instead he opted to have his 9 year old daughter drive him around and guess what he got caught.

He was caught on security cameras and the whole nine yards, he was even caught bragging about it to a store clerk at a gas station. And naturally after they left the store clerk called the police.

Listen people it's not smart or safe to drink and drive, but here is a newsflash, not smart to have your nine year old as your DD either. It's always smart to avoid drinking and driving or getting a DUI, but there are plenty of other options.

When the father and daughter were stopped after leaving the gas station, he refused thebreathalyzer and was subsequently arrested. He is currently being held on $25,000 bail, and is being charged with one felony count of child endangerment, a misdemeanor count of child abuse and habitual-offender fourth offense based on previous convictions.

Upon opening the driver's door, police said they found the 9-year-old sitting atop a child booster seat directly behind the van's steering wheel.

The father previously had been convicted on felony counts involving stolen property, illegal possession of a firearm and unarmed robbery, according to Police.

Most of the time, it's easy to stay out of trouble and out of harms way, this guy's story is a lesson of what not to do, and was so random and bizzare I had to post it.
