Overland Park Police plan DUI Saturation Patrol 4/6/12

|

Overland Park police will conduct a special saturation patrol on Friday night looking for drunken drivers and DUI's.

The DUI saturation patrol will begin at 11 p.m. Friday and end at 3 a.m. Saturday.

A DUI saturation patrol differs from a checkpoint in the fact that there will be no physical checkpoint, but there will be many more officers out in Overland Park that are specifically looking to give out DUI's.

During a patrol, a special team of officers drives through the city looking for drunken drivers and other criminal violators.

The department uses the patrols to help reduce the number of alcohol-related auto accidents and to discourage drunken driving in the city of Overland Park.
