St. Patrick's Day DUI Checkpoint Results.

Well this year again the Kansas City Police had a DUI checkpoint rolling on St. Patrick's Day into the night. The Kansas City police made 31 arrests for driving under the influence at a checkpoint overnight on northbound Southwest Trafficway at 39th Street.

Police said a total of 1,055 vehicles were stopped at the checkpoint, which ran from 10 p.m. Saturday to 4 a.m. Sunday. Eight people were cited on other traffic violations, two were found driving on a suspended or revoked license, seven were cited for hazardous moving violations, one was cited for resisting arrest and one for interfering.

So that's 31 out of 1055 people for DUI, which is under 3%, and another 19 people written up for various other things, which the Police are able to collect on due to the DUI checkpoint.

Thanks to the Kansas City Star and Chase Clements for the story.
