Weekend DUI Checkpoint Update: 7/20 - 7/22
The local police departments must expect a busy weekend of drinking here in the metro, because multiple agencies have announced they are going to be doing DUI checkpoint / saturation patrols.
1. Overland Park Police have announced that they will be doing a DUI saturation patrol from 10 p.m. Friday to 2 a.m. Saturday.
2. Independence Police will have both a sobriety checkpoint and DUI saturation patrol sometime this weekend.
3. Kansas City Missouri Police Department also said they will have a DUI sobriety checkpoint sometime this weekend.
Police typically place signs in advance of the checkpoint notifying people that they will be directed to an area where an officer can determine whether the driver is impaired and or should do field sobriety tests.
As always be safe and have fun, always cheaper and safer to take a taxi, the penalties and risks aren't worth it. We will update you as we learn more.
