Weekend DUI Checkpoint Update: 8/10 - 8/12

Area law enforcement agencies will be cracking down on drunken driving through the Labor Day weekend.

Here is what we have heard of so far for this weekend:

1. The Johnson County Sheriff's Department has announced that they will be conducting DUI Saturation Patrols this weekend, but they did not say which days, so beware all weekend.

2. Douglas County Sheriff’s Department will conduct a DUI Saturation Patrol and DUI checkpoint on Saturday, August 18th evening into early Sunday, August 19th morning. The efforts will start at 7 p.m. Saturday will be targeting speeding, drunk driving, and other Kansas traffic laws. The Saturation Patrol will be all over Douglas County, and the spot for the Checkpoint was not announced. Nothing tells the KU students welcome back to school like a DUI checkpoint!

We will update as we learn more, have a safe weekend!
