Kansas City Area
DUI Checkpoint Update: 4/3/15 - 4/5/15
The nice weather is back, and that means
DUI checkpoints are going to be starting up in full swing again. Here's
what we know so far:
1. The City of Olathe Police Department has announced that they will be
DUI Checkpoint Friday April 3rd, 2015 starting at 10:00 p.m. running until
2:00 a.m. During the course of this check lane, all motorists in the designated
area will be contacted in an effort to look for signs of impairment. Those
drivers who are deemed to be in violation of the intoxicating liquor laws
will be arrested. And get excited, because educational literature regarding
drinking and driving will be handed out.
2. The City of Overland Park Police Department has announced that they
will be conducting a
DUI Saturation Patrol on Friday April 3rd, 2015 starting at 10:00 p.m. and
running until 2:00 a.m. A
DUI Saturation Patrol is an extra group of police on patrol who are specifically
looking for signs of impaired driving and DUI, versus a standard checkpoint
in a set location.
This is what we know so far, as always we'll update as we learn more.
Be safe out there, and remember it's always best to designate a driver
or take a cab!
