Kansas City Area DUI Checkpoint Update: 7/19/13 - 7/21/13

It's been a very busy summer so far for police, and it looks like it's going to be more of the same moving forward. Here is what we know so far for this weekend around Kansas City:

1. The Olathe Police Department along with the assistance of the Johnson County Sheriff's Dept. have announced that they will be conducting a DUI checkpoint on Friday July 19th, 2013 starting at 11:00 p.m. running into 3:00 a.m. the next morning. During the course of this checkpoint they will look for signs of impairment (odor of alcohol, slurred speech, red eyes), and if they suspect impairment they will ask to perform Field Sobriety Testing, and other chemical tests to attempt to estimate B.A.C. And if you are lucky enough to go through this checkpoint, get excited because they will also be handing out educational literature regarding drinking and driving!

2. The Overland Park Police Chief has also announced that Overland Park will be conducting a DUI Saturation Patrol on Friday July 19th.

As always we will update as we learn more.
